The sculpture Flor de Chavin, created in 1994 by the Peruvian artist Joaquìn Roca Rey (Lima 1923 – Rome 2004) and donated by his children to the city of Livorno, was installed in 2012 in the square dedicated to the poet Giorgio Caproni, in the centenary year of his birth.
The bronze sculpture, that represents the three seeds of epic, lyric and dramatic poetry, expresses a disenchanted language, that encompasses the topics of life and death, a lyrical dimension similar to the poet Giorgio Caproni, whose work Roca Rey knew and esteemed.
