Love story, the large three-dimensional capital letter donated to the city by the artist Fabrizio Breschi (Livorno, 1950) is situated in the stretch that links Piazza della Vittoria to Via Marradi, just a short walking distance from the “A” in Piazza Attias. A large steel V, the sculpture was designed as an urban sign of visual reference, linked to and in homage to the Renato Spagnoli sculpture. The installation is also a tribute to the artist Vitaliano De Angelis, Breschi’s teacher who had his studio in Piazza Attias.
Fabrizio Breschi starts his creation of monumental works, that can link with the urban fabric, following a reflection that progressively matures during his research, animated by the desire to overcome the two-dimensional nature of painting and the confines of a museum space.
The work, which is a symbol of the desire to lend value to urban environments through contemporary art, unfortunately lives side by side with a context that is showing signs of decline, that would need more redevelopment.
Like the case of Piazza Attias, we find ourselves in the heart of shopping and commercial streets, just a short distance from Casa Modigliani and his statue, while the work itself marks the boundary with the nearby tree-filled square Piazza della Vittoria.
