The bronze sculpture “Il Pescatore” created in 1956 by Mino Trafeli (Volterra 1922 – 2018) was purchased by the City of Livorno in 1957 and is located on the famous Lungomare di Ardenza, close to 'Baracchina Rossa'.
An iconic piece of art for the city due to both the subject and for the composition itself of what it represents - a man lying down looking out to sea - seems to foreshadow the artistic path in its formal innovation, and with its political-social undertaking that characterises the long path of Trafeli between art, theatre, music and scenic spaces, both public and private.
