This stage of the itinerary will take you to the house where the great artist Amedeo Modigliani was born, in Via Roma 38, on the first floor of a charming building belonging to the nineteenth-century Livornian Jewish middle class.
The “piano nobile” of this famous house still remains, which preserved untouched the charm of a Livornian Jewish middle-class home, with its marble grit floors decorates with geometric patterns and floral motifs, lacquered wooden doors, small brass handles, Livorno-style shutters, the old marble sink and the kitchen cupboards made from masonry work.
The apartment has been set up as a small museum, with exhibition panels that preserve documents from the Modigliani legal archives.
